Ben Jennings

Ben Jennings has been producing editorial work on a regular basis for i Newspaper, The Guardian and The Huffington Post.  His work political, controversial, comedic and sometimes sexual- think back to the book project we did in first year (Ben produced a graphic depiction of a humorous autoerotic tale... whether it was based on his own personal experiences or totally fictitious, nobody knows).  He's won awards, exhibited in Berlin and has already got a fantastic reputation as an illustrator already.  Here's a little bio of Ben, his work, articles and other projects.  Definitely one to watch out for at IDENTITY 2012 and in the future!!

Ben has been drawing cartoons for as long as he can remember; in his Maths class at school he'd be drawing scathing caricatures of his teacher instead of Venn diagrams and at 15 he began selling caricatures. Six years on and Ben is the cartoonist for the i newspaper and has also produced cartoons for The Guardian, The Huffington Post, The World Development Movement, The Morning Star and The Stool Pigeon music newspaper, among others,  as well as taking part in various exhibitions in London and Berlin and producing two animated music videos for MOBO-award winning rapper Akala, used on the rapper's website. Ben was also awarded "Political Cartoon of the Year 2011" for a piece he produced based on the hunt for former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, published in The Guardian in August 2011.

Personally, this is my favourite piece of work ben has produced; it shows off his computer and drawing skills in one.  Check out the video, it's amazing!!
